How do I qualify for the Zoom! Whitening promotion?
Dr. Gammage offers in office tooth whitening to all new patients included in the initial visit. An exam, x-rays and a cleaning qualify all new patients for the ZOOM! gift.
How long does the procedure take?
The Zoom! Whitening takes approximately one hour.
It can be done right after the cleaning, time permitting (plan to spend at least one hour and forty five minutes for the initial visit and Zoom! whitening) or at a subsequent appointment.
What’s the actual procedure like?
Please visit www.zoomnow.com for a slide show.
During the procedure, you will not be left alone in the treatment room. An assistant will be present during the entire treatment. In addition, you will be given a pad and pen to communicate with us, and will be able to enjoy the music or watch tv.
Does it hurt?
Sensitivity during treatment and for 24 hours post-treatment may occur with some patients. The Zoom! Light generates minimal heat, which is usually the source of discomfort. On rare occasions, minor tingling sensations are experienced immediately after the procedure but always dissipate shortly thereafter. Glosmiles can also provide patients with anti-sensitivity toothpaste for use prior to treatment.
How long do results from whitening last?
The whitening lasts indefinitely with proper home care, all of which will be reviewed during the visit. | |
Is there anyone who does not qualify for the Zoom! treatment?
Yes, unfortunately. Before you can be considered as a candidate for tooth whitening, a thorough examination is necessary to determine the strength and condition of your teeth. If you have large fillings or crowns in your front teeth, tooth whitening may not be an option. In addition, children under 12, pregnant and lactating women, and patients taking certain medications cannot whiten with Zoom!
The following medications are commonly considered to be photo reactive and may cause an adverse reaction if used in conjunction with the Zoom! Light. - Aldoclor, Diupres, Diuril
- Aldacteride, Aldoril, Capozide, Dyazide, Hydroiuril, Lopressor, Orotic, Moduretic
- Cobipres, Tenoretic, Hygroton
- Naproxen
- Daypro
- Relafen
- Feldene
- Vibramycin, Doryx
- Cipro
- Floxin
- Methoxsalen, Trisoralen
- Declomycin
- Chibroxin, Noroxin
- Zagan
- Clinoril, Sulindac
- Achromycin
- Accutane
- Retin A
- St. John’s Wart
If I am on one of the medications above, can I still bleach my teeth?
Yes. We will prepare you for the procedure exactly the same way as for the Zoom!, however, we use a different bleaching product that does not need to be light activated. The long term results are excellent. Home care is necessary to reach ideal results. I have more questions?
